Poster Nandakumar

Biography:

Nandakumar, popularly known as Poster Nandakumar, is an Indian actor, producer, and distributor of posters who was born on August 26, 1967, and has experience in Tamil cinema. His roles in Vil Ambu (2016) and Madras (2014) marked his acting breakthroughs; he was also the producer of the latter.

Nandakumar is the head of the family business that was founded in the 1950s and operates the largest cinema poster distribution service in Chennai. Prior to T. Rajender requesting to take over the project, Nandakumar was also involved in the pre-production of Pandiraj’s Idhu Namma Aalu (2016). Director Pa. Ranjith noticed Nandakumar when he was at Studio Green’s office to talk about the distribution of movie posters. He asked him to be an actor in the movie Madras (2014).

Nandakumar was reluctant at first, but he eventually consented, and the movie did well at the box office, leading to more offers for Nandakumar and the SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role. Nandakumar went on to produce and feature in Ramesh Subramaniam’s 2016 film Vil Ambu.

He has contributed to the films Nibunan (2016), Rukkumani Vandi Varudhu (2016), and Kabali (2016), starring Rajinikanth.
