Biography:

Poonam Pandey, born on March 11, 1991, and passed away on February 2, 2024, was an Indian model and actress known for her bold roles and controversial social media presence. She made her Bollywood debut with the film “Nasha” in 2013. Pandey, originally from Kanpur, started her career as a model and gained recognition through the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest. She gained popularity on social media, especially Twitter, for posting semi-nude photos that attracted significant media attention.

Pandey gained widespread attention when she promised to strip for the Indian national cricket team if it won the 2011 Cricket World Cup, but she did not fulfill this promise due to public disapproval and claimed she was denied permission by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, she later uploaded a video on her mobile app where she is seen stripping naked at the Wankhede Stadium at night. In 2012, she posed nude after Kolkata Knight Riders won the Indian Premier League.

Pandey faced controversy when her mobile app, which featured explicit content, was banned by Google. She also uploaded a sex tape with her then-boyfriend on Instagram, which she later deleted. In 2013, she played the lead role in “Nasha,” portraying a teacher who has a sexual relationship with one of her students. The film’s posters, featuring her scantily clad, sparked protests and were torn down and set on fire in Mumbai.

Despite the controversies, Pandey continued her career and married her long-term boyfriend Sam Bombay in a private ceremony in September 2020. However, just days after the wedding, she filed a complaint against Bombay, accusing him of molestation, threats, and assault. Bombay was arrested but later released on bail, and Pandey reconciled with him. This incident led to accusations and trolling on social media, with many claiming it was a publicity stunt.

Pandey faced further legal issues when she was arrested in North Goa in November 2020 for filming a nude video on government property. In January 2022, she was accused of involvement in a major porn film racketing controversy scandal, but she was given protection from arrest by the Supreme Court of India.
