Pooja S Gupte

Biography:

Pooja Gupte is a filmmaker from India. She has a degree in commercial art with a focus on photography. Pooja attended the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in India to study cinematography. Pooja was chosen to participate in the 2012 Berlinale Talent Campus as an Indian cinematographer. Additionally, she received an invitation to showcase her work at the 2019 Stuttgart-Indian Film Festival in Stuttgart, Germany, as part of the Making of Indian Cinema series. “Crossing Bridges,” her debut feature picture as DoP, was produced by her production company Easel Films and earned a National (President’s) award in 2014. “Rukh” won her the 5th AIFF 2018 Best Cinematography award.

Her most recent film, Panchak, which was produced by Dr. Sriram Nene and Mrs. Madhuri Dixit, did well in theaters. She has completed filming two films: Silence-2 for Zed Studio, which was produced by seasoned cinematographer Mr. Kiran Deohans ISC, and Poshmapa films for Viacom. In addition, Pooja has contributed to a number of commercials and short films.
