Peter Jackson is a New Zealand-based director, producer, screenwriter, and entrepreneur who won an Oscar award, considered one of the greatest directors of contemporary cinema. Known for his visionary approach to storytelling, innovative special effects and worldbuilding, Peter Jackson made fantasy films a completely new genre by creating some of the best adapted movies based on the books written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Starting his career with the making of some small-budget cult movies, including Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and Braindead (Dead Alive), Peter gained fame with the movie Heavenly Creatures. He achieved worldwide fame with his trilogy The Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King), which turned into one of the best film trilogies ever. Some of his other movies include King Kong, The Lovely Bones, The Hobbit trilogy, They Shall Not Grow Old (World War I documentary film), and The Beatles: Get Back (documentary about the Beatles).
