Peddinti Ashok Kumar, born on February 6, 1968, is a renowned Telugu writer known for his novels, dramas, films, and stories originating from the Telangana region. He was born in Bhimuni Mallareddypet village, Gambhiraopet mandal, Rajanna Sirisilla district, to Mallavva and Anjaya. His educational journey took him through Intermediate Gambhiraopet, B.Sc in Siddipet, MA in Telugu from Kakatiya University, and M.Sc in Mathematics from Nagarjuna University. Currently, he serves as a mathematics teacher in Ramajipet village, Illantakunta mandal.
Aside from his role as a teacher, Peddinti Ashok Kumar has made significant contributions to literature and cinema. He began his writing career in 1999 with his first story, “Hope-Disappointment-Hope,” and has since published over 200 stories, six novels, and seven volumes of stories. His novel “Jigiri” has been translated into eight Indian languages including Hindi, English, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Kannada, Maithili, and Bengali.
In addition to his literary work, Ashok Kumar has made a mark as a film writer, crafting stories, dialogues, and songs for various films. Notable contributions include writing dialogues for the movie “Dandakor,” as well as songs and dialogues for “Mallesham.” He has also lent his writing skills to other films such as “Dorasani” and “Vedam.”
