Biography:

Danny Sapani, a British actor, has made his mark in British, American, and Indian cinema. He is most recognized for his roles in popular TV series and films, including “Misfits,” “Doctor Who,” “Penny Dreadful,” “The Crown,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and “Black Panther.”

Born on November 15, 1970, in London to Ghanaian immigrant parents, Sapani is one of six siblings. He grew up in Hackney and first explored his passion for acting at the Weekend Arts College in Kentish Town. He further honed his acting skills by training at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Throughout his career, Sapani has showcased his talent on both stage and screen. His diverse portfolio includes appearances in Danny Boyle’s “Trance,” stage performances in works like August Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” and “Radio Golf,” and roles in notable productions such as “Singam II,” an Indian action film. In 2021, he starred alongside Adrian Lester in the streamed version of Lolita Chakrabarti’s “Hymn,” earning praise for their captivating portrayal of complex characters. His television work encompasses series like “Misfits,” “Ultimate Force,” and “Penny Dreadful,” where he played Sembene for the first two seasons.
