Biography:
Paul Newman was an American actor, filmmaker, director, producer, race car driver, and philanthropist, who is considered to be one of the best and most influential stars of Hollywood. Famous for his charisma, good looks, blue eyes, and incredible flexibility, Newman was a successful actor with more than half a century-long career, giving impressive performances in dramas, comedies, western movies, and crime films. The star became famous after performing in the film “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” (1958), and later starred in popular movies like “The Hustler” (1961), “Hud” (1963), “Cool Hand Luke” (1967), “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969), “The Sting” (1973), “The Verdict” (1982), “Road to Perdition” (2002), and “Cars” (2006) where he voiced Doc Hudson. As well as being an excellent actor, Newman also directed films such as “Rachel, Rachel” (1968), “Sometimes a Great Notion” (1971), “The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds” (1972), and “Harry & Son” (1984). Apart from this, Newman received many other awards, including an Honorary Academy Award and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
