Actor Patrick Joseph Wilson was born in the United States on July 3, 1973. In 1995, he started his career as a Broadway musical star. For his performances in Oklahoma! (2002) and The Full Monty (2000–2001), he was nominated for two Tony Awards. In 2003, he costarred in the HBO miniseries Angels in America, for which he received both a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe nomination.
Wilson starred in films like Watchmen (2009), The A-Team (2010), Hard Candy (2005), Little Children (2006), The Alamo (2004), and The Phantom of the Opera (2004). He became more well-known for his leading parts in the horror movies Insidious (2010–2023) and The Conjuring (2013–present) as Ed Warren. The sequel Insidious: The Red Door (2023) marked his directing debut.
Wilson portrayed Lou Solverson in the second season of FX’s anthology series Fargo (2015), for which he was nominated for a second Golden Globe, and starred in the CBS drama series A Gifted Man from 2011 to 2012. He portrayed Ocean Master in Aquaman (2018) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) in the DC Extended Universe.
