Indian actress Pallavi Subhash Shirke was born on June 9, 1984. She started her career as a model before becoming an actor, appearing in Marathi plays, movies, and TV shows before moving on to Hindi TV series. Her filmography includes Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Sinhala productions. She gained recognition for her performances as Prince Siddhartha’s wife Yasodhara in the 2018 film Bimba Devi Alias Yashodhara and as Dharma in the television series Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (2015–2016).
Pallavi Shirke intended to study law and follow in her grandfather’s footsteps as an attorney after earning her B.Com., but instead she accepted an invitation from director Kedar Shinde to appear in the Marathi play Tu Tu Mee Mee, which marked the beginning of her career in the television industry. She performed in several Marathi plays, movies, commercials, and TV series.
She made appearances in the Marathi television serials Adhuri Ek Kahani on Zee Marathi and Char Divas Sasuche on ETV Marathi. She costarred with Shreyas Talpade in the Marathi television series Ek Hota Raja in 2003. Tumhari Disha, a Hindi serial, marked Subhash’s screen debut. In 2006. She portrayed the lead part of middle-class Bengali girl Gauri in this, for which she received a nomination in 2007 for the Indian Telly Award’s Fresh New Face category. She portrayed Meera, a bad character, in Balaji Telefilms’ Kasamh Se from 2007 to 2008. She was a 2008 Indian Telly Award nominee for Best Actress in a Negative Role because of her work in this program. Pallavi Subhash and Vijay Patkar costarred in Mansingh Pawar’s Marathi film Polisachi Bayko in 2003.
This comedy-drama film, written by Omkar, follows a docile police officer who enjoys keeping his boss pleased and is shocked when his wife gets a better-paying job. Her first feature film role was in the 2005 Marathi film Kunku Zale Vairi, which was directed by Nagesh Darak.
The film earned her a nomination for the Zee Gaurav Award for Best Actress. In the same year, she also starred in a supporting part in Mandar Shinde’s comedy Marathi film No Problem, which starred Navin Prabhakar, Jeetendra Joshi, and Savita Malpekar.
In Manoj Palrecha’s 2006 Marathi film Sage Soyare, Subhash starred alongside Sonali Kulkarni, Pankaj Vishnu, and Vilas Ujawane in the major role. She also acted in the Deepak Naidu-directed Marathi film Aaila Re!! in the same year, starring Ankush Chaudhary, Jitendra Joshi, Sushant Shellar, Yatin Karyekar, Shakuntala Nare, and Amit Phalke.
The legendary Marathi film Mee Sansar Mandite, helmed by Vishwanath Chauhan, was released in 2008. Alka Kubal-Aathalye, Ashok Shinde, Ravindra Berde, and Suhasini Deshpande costarred with Subhash in this movie.Subhash is a model for television commercials for brands such as Lifebouy, 3 Roses, Everest Gharam Masala, Lion Date Jam, and others.
She rose to fame in 2012 and 2013 as a model for TV commercials. She gained appreciation for her work in the “Meethe mein kuch meetha ho jaaye” ad campaign for Cadbury’s following which she was dubbed to as the ‘Cadbury girl’. She has worked on advertising campaigns for Sri Mahalakshmi Silks, The Chennai Shopping Mall, and VGN Victoria Park in 2019.
