Biography:

P. Sivakami is an Indian Dalit-feminist author, activist, and former IAS official who was born on November 30, 1957. She writes primarily in Tamil. Among her well-known pieces are Kadaisi Mandhar, Kurruku Vettu, Nalum Thodarum, and Pazhayana Kazhidalum. In addition to being one of India’s most well-known Dalit novelists, she has consistently expressed her views on current social and political issues. Sivakami has been actively contributing to the monthly journal Puthiya Kodangi since 1995 and has maintained constant contact with the editing staff.
