Padmanabhan Balachandran Nair was an Indian author, playwright, director, actor, and scenarist who lived from February 2, 1952, until April 5, 2021. His contributions to Malayalam literature and film were well-known.
The drama Paavam Usman, for which Balachandran received the 1989 Kerala Professional Nataka Award and the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, is his most well-known work. Among his many screenplays are Ulladakkam (1991), Agnidevan (1995), Punaradhivasam (2000), Kammatti Paadam (2016), and Pavithram (1994). Ivan Megharoopan (2012) is his first film as a director. Additionally, he has acted in a few movies, the most well-known of which is Trivandrum Lodge (2012).
