The films Shanghai (2012), Ugly (2013), and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015) are well-known works by Nikos Andritsakis. At the age of 24, Andritsakis, who was born in Greece, relocated to London and worked there for eight years before starting to travel back and forth between the UK and India. Andritsakis attended the London Film School and graduated.
Initially arriving in India to work on a project that was ultimately abandoned, Andritsakis attracted the attention of director Dibakar Banerjee with his proficiency in digital format cinematography, and the two collaborated on three movies, beginning with Love, Sex Aur Dhokha (2010).
