Neeta Pillai is an Indian actress primarily working in the Malayalam film industry. She made her debut in 2018 with the musical drama Poomaram, directed by Abrid Shine, where she starred alongside Kalidas Jayaram. Her performance earned her the Asianet Film Award for Best New Face (Female) and a nomination for Best Debut Actress (Malayalam) at the 8th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA).
Born in Thodupuzha, Kerala, to Vijayan P.N. and Manjula D. Nair, Neeta holds a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA. She is also a trained classical musician and dancer. In 2015, she was crowned second runner-up in the Miss Bollywood beauty pageant held in Houston.
In 2020, Neeta played the lead role as a martial arts expert in Abrid Shine’s action film The Kung Fu Master. Inspired by action legends like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li, the film was shot in the Himalayan Valley, Badrinath, and along the India-China border. Neeta trained intensively for a year to prepare for the action sequences, showcasing her dedication and versatility as an actress.
