Indian actress Nakshatra Trinayani has acted in Kannada and Malayalam films, among other Indian language productions.
Nakshatra is the youngest daughter of former actress Sumithra and late Kannada cinema director D. Rajendra Babu. Her older sibling, Umashankari, is also an actor in that region.
She attended the Erode Sengunthar College of Engineering to study biotechnology.
While attending an event, Nakshatra’s mother Sumithra approached her 17-year-old director, Sunil Kumar Desai, who expressed interest in casting her.
In Desai’s Saregama, she was given the lead role. Shortly after, she was given a role in Gokula, which was also her first film, and she played one of the main roles in Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
She got to co-act with her mother in Gokula, where she played a shy girl. She “strikes in a tiny role,” “steals the stage,” and is “very good,” according to critics who lauded her for her film achievement.
Her initial releases came in 2011 in Tamil, Doo, and Marudhavelu. The next year, she made her Malayalam film debut with Vaidooryam, using the screen name Deepthi for Malayalam productions.
Kili Paadum Gramam was her second Malayalam release that year. Her portrayal of Gayathri in Vaidooryam, “a sturdy woman confronting struggle and emotional pain in order to win her love,” was described by Nakshatra as a “big challenge” because of how difficult some of the sequences were.
Additionally, she signed on for “a significant role” in the Kannada film Fair & Lovely. Her mother costarred with her when she made her acting debut in the Malayalam movie Village Guys in 2015.
She had an appearance in the Telugu film Rajdooth. She also made an appearance in the 1978 film Palasa.
