Mihir Desai

Biography:

Mihir Desai is an Indian filmmaker, producer, cinematographer, and director. He specializes in Hindi digital entertainment. Desai is a graduate from Columbia College Chicago where he was trained in film direction, editing, and cinematography. Desai started his career by directing award-winning short films, music videos, documentaries, and non-fiction TV shows. Some of his early works include Man vs Job, OMG! Yeh Mera India, Kahi Suni, and Neta Sabki Leta. Prior to becoming a mainstream fiction filmmaker, Desai also worked as cinematographer and producer in some independent films.

Mihir Desai received much acclaim when he directed some episodes of Amazon Prime Video’s popular crime drama series Mirzapur, including its second season, whose visual storytelling and characterization became extremely popular. Later, Desai directed the psychological family drama Masoom (2022), starring Boman Irani and Samara Tijori. In addition to this, he acted as the director and showrunner of Disney+ Hotstar’s industry drama Showtime (2024). In addition to this, Mihir Desai will be working as the director of the Indian adaptation of the Irish psychological thriller Blood.
