Meghana Sunder Raj Sarja, an Indian actress who predominantly works in Malayalam and Kannada movies. She made her acting debut in Bendu Apparao R.M.P., a 2009 Telugu movie. She received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the 2018 Kannada movie Iruvudellava Bittu. She was the late actor Chiranjeevi Sarja’s wife.
Meghana Raj is the only child of Tamilian Sundar Raj and Kannadiga Pramila Joshai, both of whom are performers in the film industry. Her mother Pramila Joshai is a well-known Kannada cinema actress[citation needed] and film producer, while her father Sundar has appeared in more than 180 films, mostly in the Kannada language.[Reference needed] She graduated from Baldwin Girls’ High School and has a psychology bachelor’s degree from Christ University in Bangalore.
In the drama Jokumaraswamy, Meghana Raj had her stage debut as a young child, performing with her father Sunder Raj. She was invited to pursue an acting career and star in one of director K. Balachander’s next films during the audio launch event for the Tamil film Poi in February 2006. She accepted his offer and was awarded the lead female part in Selvan’s Balachander-produced Tamil film Krishnaleelai. However, despite continuing to shoot throughout 2008, which was wrapped up in the beginning of 2009, the movie was mired in production hell, and its release was postponed for a number of reasons.
