Mayank Sharma

Biography:

Mayank Sharma is an Indian director, writer, and producer of movies and shows that revolve around thrillers and psychological dramas. He is famous for producing the digital shows of Amazon Prime Video that focus on Hindi digital entertainment. Mayank has won fame because of his role as the writer, director, and creator of Amazon Prime Video’s award-winning show Breathe in 2018 that starred R. Madhavan and Amit Sadh. The show received positive reviews for its storyline and emotionally-driven characters and offered a new take on psychological crime thrillers. Mayank went on to direct the next two seasons of the show titled Breathe: Into the Shadows in 2020 and 2022 featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Amit Sadh, and Nithya Menen.

Prior to becoming a director of the long format content, he had been an assistant and associate director in various films such as Ramaa: The Saviour, Table No. 21, Chashme Baddoor, and Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd. Known for his atmospheric direction and multi-layered narrative, Mayank Sharma has emerged as one of the leading writers and directors in India’s OTT space. Apart from directing shows like Breathe and Breathe: Into the Shadows, he is working on horror film Rooh.
