Manochitra, born on March 5, 1997, is an Indian actress known for her appearances in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu films. Her career in the entertainment industry began in 2010 under the screen name Nandhagi. It was during the production of “Aval Peyar Thamizharasi,” where she played the lead role, that the director Meera Kathiravan decided to maintain secrecy about her identity until the audio launch of the film. The movie, although not a huge box office hit, received critical acclaim, and Manochitra, then credited as Nandhagi, was nominated for the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress. Following this, she decided to go by her birth name, Manochitra.
In the years that followed, Manochitra worked on various projects, including “Neerparavai” in 2012, “Netru Indru” in 2014, and “Veeram” in the same year. She also expanded her horizons by venturing into Telugu cinema with “Malligadu Marriage Bureau” and Malayalam cinema with “Pianist,” both in 2014. However, some of her films like “Thandavakone,” “Ithanai Naalai Engirundai,” and “Kalingathu Parani” faced production delays and remained unreleased. Despite these challenges, she continued her acting career, appearing in the film “Andaman” in 2016, where she was paired with actor Richard Rishi.
