Indian playback singer and composer Madhavapeddi Suresh is involved in Telugu film and television. For his efforts, he has won four state Nandi Awards in Andhra Pradesh.
Suresh, a close relative of famous playback singer Madhavapeddi Satyam, started playing the harmonium in Vijayawada at the age of sixteen. In his debut motion picture, Parivartana (1975), he featured as an accordionist with T. Chalapathi Rao’s musical ensemble. Later on, he turned to keyboards and recorded and rerecorded over 1,500 films for a number of well-known composers.
In 1989, Jandhyala, a friend from college, directed the film Hai Hai Nayaka, which marked Suresh’s debut as a music director. Later, he composed music for more than sixty motion pictures, such as Ramayanam (1997), Maatho Pettukoku (1995), Madam (1994), Bhairava Dweepam (1994), and Brundavanam (1992). As the Best Music Director for the 1996 film Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam, he was granted the Nandi Award.
Additionally, Suresh is ETV’s first internal music director. In addition to composing the title song for the spooky series Anveshitha (1997–1999), he worked on their serials for seven years. Two of the four Nandi Awards he had received were in recognition of his work in television.
