Luke Kenny

Biography:

Actor, filmmaker, producer, composer, music director, and former VJ Luke Kenny is from India. He started out as a DJ before having a successful run as Channel V’s first male VJ. His performance in the 2008 rock musical drama Rock On!! brought him worldwide acclaim.

As the hired mercenary Malcolm Murad in the Netflix series Sacred Games, Kenny returned to the spotlight in 2018. Kenny is Anglo-Indian and was born in Kolkata. Originally from Burma, his Irish grandpa married Kenny’s British grandmother after relocating to India following World War II. Robert Kenny, the actor’s father, was a musician who was born in Delhi. Later, he relocated to Kolkata and wed Kenny’s Italian mother. Growing up in Mumbai with his father and grandpa, both of whom were musicians, after his parents divorced when he was very young, sparked Kenny’s early love in music. He attended Mumbai’s Elphinstone College, but he dropped out early to focus on his musical career.
