Lollu Sabha Seshu

Biography:

Actor and comedian Lakshmi Narayanan Seshu, better known by his stage name Lollu Sabha Seshu, made appearances in Tamil films. He began his career with other comedians, such as Santhanam, on the television program Lollu Sabha.

Seshu made his screen debut as an actor in the 2002 film Thulluvadho Ilamai, starring Dhanush and directed by Dhanush’s father Kasthuri Raja. However, after going into television, he made his first big break in his career.

Seshu originally became well-known for his roles in the Vijay TV parody series Lollu Sabha. Several popular comedians, including Santhanam, Swaminathan, Jeeva, and Balaji, who were part of the main cast of the series, went on to make appearances in Tamil films after being inspired by it.

Yogi Babu and Madhumitha, two more supporting performers, rose to fame in the motion picture industry. Seshu’s portrayal of renowned actress Gandhimathi from the 1983 movie Mann Vasanai stands out as his most famous Lollu Sabha performance.

Velayudham (2011) A1 (2019), Dikkiloona (2021), Parris Jeyaraj (2021), Gulu Gulu (2022), 80s Buildup (2023), Kick (2023), and Vadakkupatti Ramasamy (2024) are only a few of the movies in which Seshu and Santhanam frequently worked together. In his son Abhilash’s 2020 short film Aurora, he also had a supporting role. In Draupathi (2020) and Naai Sekar Returns (2022), he was also well-known for his comedic songs.

He was originally scheduled to appear in the film project named Sister, which was launched in January 2024 and features Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role. At the age of sixty, Seshu passed away on March 26, 2024, at a private hospital located in Chennai.

He apparently received treatment prior to his death after experiencing an unexpected heart attack on March 15, 2024, and medical professionals indicated that three cardiac blockages had been found.

A few weeks prior to his passing, in March 2024, he also participated in a reunion meet for a television program that Vijay TV aired as one of the Lollu Sabha team’s cadres.
