Lijin Jose is a Malayalam film director known for his work on two feature films and one documentary. He made his directorial debut with Friday, starring Fahad Fazil and Ann Augustine. He is also the founder of Every Dog Has Its Day Productions (EDHID) and Make My Theatre. A graduate in filmmaking from C-DIT, his diploma project film Night Is Difficult to Cut won the UGC-CEC award for Best Student Film. He worked as a paneled director at C-DIT, creating documentaries, advertisements, and public awareness films. Before embarking on his directorial journey, he served as an assistant director to notable filmmakers V. K. Prakash, T. K. Rajeev Kumar, and Deepu Karunakaran.
Born in Alappuzha, Kerala, Lijin holds a postgraduate degree in English language and literature from the University of Kerala and a postgraduate diploma in filmmaking from C-DIT. His career in cinema began in 2003, assisting on films like Ivar, The Journey, Chacko Randaaman, Winter (2004), and Seetha Kalyanam. Following Friday, he directed Law Point with Kunchako Boban and Namitha Pramod. He later focused on documentary filmmaking, directing 8½ Intercuts: Life and Films of K.G. George, a tribute to the legendary filmmaker’s life and career.
