L. Raja is an Indian director and actor primarily active in the Tamil film and television industry. His career commenced with him working as an assistant to director Rajasekhar. He made his directorial debut with the film “Shankar Guru” in 1987, which was produced by AVM Productions. Throughout his directorial career, he worked on nine films, with six of them featuring actor Arjun in prominent roles. After a hiatus of approximately 30 years, Raja transitioned to acting when he was approached for the film “Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu” in 2008. Since then, he has appeared in around 35 films, including notable roles like playing Sasikumar’s father in “Naadodigal.”
In addition to his contributions to the film industry, L. Raja made his mark in the television arena by making his debut with “Raghuvamsam,” a series that received positive reviews. He has continued his television career by participating in various TV series and directing two of them: “Idhi Kadha Kaadhu” and “Ninne Pelladutha” for Radaan Mediaworks. Furthermore, he directed “Himsaveda,” a silent dance drama produced by AVM Productions.
On a personal note, Raja is married to actress Easwari Rao, and the couple has two children, a son and a daughter.
