Kshitij Patwardhan
Biography:
Kshitij Patwardhan, an Indian film director, screenwriter, theater director, playwright, and lyricist, was born on January 11, 1985. He won the Tarun Tejankit Award in 2019, the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay in 2018, the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist in 2020, and the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue – Marathi for Dhurala. In recognition of his services to Marathi cinema, he has also won several Maharashtra State Film Awards, Zee Gaurav Puraskar, MIFTA, and Star Pravah Ratna.
He became passionate about writing after earning a master’s degree in communication and journalism and a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He received a United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)–Laadli National Award for Creative Excellence for Social Change for creating a print ad on ending sex selection while he was employed at Setu Advertising in Pune. He received this honor once again for a song he penned in Hindi.
