Krishna Praba

Biography:

Krishna Praba is an Indian actress, television presenter, and classical dancer primarily associated with the Malayalam film industry. She began her film career in 2008 with Madampi, a drama directed by B. Unnikrishnan, where she appeared in the lead role. She gained further recognition for her performance as Mollykutty in Life of Josutty (2015), directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jeethu Joseph.

Born to C.R. Prabhakaran Nair, a former mechanical engineer at HMT Kalamassery, and Sheela Prabhakaran Nair, Krishna Praba was raised in a culturally rich environment. She completed her schooling at St. Joseph’s School in Kalamassery and later pursued higher secondary education in humanities at Sacred Heart College, Thevara. From a young age, Praba was deeply influenced by classical and traditional art forms such as Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Nadakam, and Margamkali.

Her classical dance training began at the age of three under the guidance of Kalamandalam Sugandhi, her first mentor. She later earned a diploma in Bharatanatyam from Alliance University in Bangalore, further enhancing her grounding in classical performance.

Over the years, Krishna Praba carved a niche for herself in Malayalam cinema by portraying diverse and memorable characters. Apart from Madampi and Life of Josutty, she also stood out in the 2013 film Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla. In 2017, she participated in the acclaimed dance drama Radha Madhavam, directed by actress Gayathri, joining a troupe of award-winning performers and further showcasing her versatility as a classical dancer and artist.

With her multifaceted talents in acting, presenting, and classical dance, Krishna Praba continues to be a vibrant presence in the Malayalam entertainment industry.
