Kirron Kher is an Indian actress, politician, and TV personality affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Elected to the Lok Sabha from Chandigarh in 2014, she has also won two National Film Awards and received four Filmfare Award nominations. She debuted in the Punjabi film Aasra Pyar Da (1983) and took a break from cinema until 1996, later returning through acclaimed roles in Sardari Begum and Khamosh Pani.
Kher gained further recognition in films like Devdas (2002), Rang De Basanti (2006), and Singh Is Kinng (2008). She also appeared on TV shows such as Purushkshetra and served as a judge on India’s Got Talent. Born on June 14, 1952, in Bangalore, she grew up in Chandigarh and studied at Panjab University. Known initially as Kiran Berry, she adopted the name Kirron Kher after marrying Anupam Kher.
