Film editor Kirk Baxter was born in Australia in 1972. He has won Academy Awards for The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and has collaborated on other projects with director David Fincher and editor Angus Wall.
Baxter was given the opportunity to work as a production assistant for Ross Wood Productions, a local company, at the age of 17. Because the firm had a variety of divisions in both production and post-production, Baxter was able to observe the workings of directors, editors, focus pullers, grips, gaffers, and cinematographers. Baxter left school to seek a job after falling in love with the editorial process very soon.
