He is most likely best known to many of us as the man who gave Shahid Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most gifted actors, his directorial debut with Ishq Vishk. Nonetheless, he is well-known in the entertainment sector for his groundbreaking contributions to Indian music videos.
Ken Ghosh, one of the most renowned music video producers of the 1990s, has produced numerous outstanding videos, such as Baba Sehgal’s Dil Dhadke (1992) and Alisha Chinai’s Made in India. Additionally, he contributed to the music video for the remix of Afreen Afreen by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, which sold more than five lakh copies. In 1992, Ken also founded Shadow Films, his own production company.
In 2003, he made his directorial debut with Ishq Vishk, starring Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, and Shenaz Treasurywala in their Bollywood debuts. The romantic coming-of-age movie was well received at the box office and helped Shahid Kapoor’s Bollywood career take off. Following the success of his debut, Ken and Shahid collaborated once more on his second film, Fida (2004), which did not receive a favorable reception at the box office. Shahid reprised his role in Ken’s third film, Chance Pe Dance (2010), although it was a box office failure as well. He released two films in 2017: XXX and Dev DD.
