Karl Gajdusek is an American dramatist, producer, and screenwriter who was born on July 30, 1968. Along with Shawn Ryan, he co-created the television series Last Resort and served as showrunner for the first season of the Netflix series Stranger Things. Additionally, both of them served as executive producers for the show. Gajdusek was also the writer for the 2011 movie Trespass and the television show Dead Like Me. He co-wrote the screenplays for Oblivion, a 2013 Tom Cruise film, and The November Man, a 2014 release.
