K. Natraj is an Indian actor and director who has predominantly worked in the Tamil film industry, as well as in television serials. He is well-known in the film industry as a close friend of the legendary actor Rajinikanth. Notably, his daughter, named Rajini, was previously married to actor Vishnu Vishal from 2011 to 2018.
In his career, K. Natraj played a pivotal role in the creation of the Tamil film “Touched by Love,” inspired by a film featuring Elvis Presley that deeply moved producer Azhagan Thamizhmani and writer Thooyavan. They envisioned a similar storyline in Tamil and approached Natraj, who was working as an assistant director at the time. Rajinikanth agreed to act in the film, and it was shot entirely within a school setting with the participation of 300 students. The film was well-received, with The Hindu commending Natraj for his heartfelt treatment of the story and the performances of the cast, especially a group of orphaned children.
Later, K. Natraj joined as an assistant director in Rajinikanth’s film “Annamalai.” Encouraged by Rajinikanth, he decided to direct a film of his own, resulting in “Valli.” Rajinikanth himself wrote the script for this project, which marked the debut of several actors, including Priyaraman, Hariraj, and Sanjay. Despite his initial reluctance, Rajinikanth appeared in a small role at the insistence of his friends. The filming took place in various locations, including Chalakudi, Pollachi, and Red Hills, and featured magician Alex in an acting role.
