Biography:
Aamir Khan, a Hindi film star, and Reena Dutta, his first wife, welcomed Junaid Khan into the world in 1993. Ira is his younger sister. His mother’s family is Bengali, while his father’s side is Pashtun-Arab. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai.
In 2017, Khan made his stage debut in Quasar Thakore-Padamsee’s adaption of Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children. Then, in 2019, he starred as a slave in his sister Ira’s Medea play at the Prithvi Theatre.
As part of the Prithvi Theatre festival in 2024, Khan starred in the tragicomedy Runaway Brides by Faezeh Jalali. He performed in several parts in the theater production of Shikhandi, which was based on the same-named persona. He performed as a trans woman in Jalali’s piece Strictly Unconventional at the National Center for the Performing Arts that same year. Deepa Gahlot described Khan as “totally relaxed in his flamboyant outfit and wig” in her review of the performance.
