Jugal Hansraj is an Indian actor, author, and filmmaker. He began his career as a child actor in Shekhar Kapur’s Masoom (1983), and continued with roles in films like Karma (1986) and Sultanat (1986). As a child, he also appeared in various TV and print advertisements. Hansraj made his adult acting debut with Aa Gale Lag Jaa in 1994 and went on to star in major films such as Mohabbatein (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and Salaam Namaste (2005).
He also worked as a writer and director for the 2008 animated film Roadside Romeo, which, despite mixed reviews, won the National Film Award for Best Animated Film. Hansraj directed another film, Pyaar Impossible (2010), which was a romantic comedy starring Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra.
In 2017, Hansraj published his first children’s novel, Cross Connection: The Big Circus Adventure. Born on July 26, 1972, he is the younger son of cricketer Pravin Hansraj and has an elder brother, Sunil Hansraj. He married Jasmine Dhillon, a New York-based investment banker, in July 2014, and they have a son named Sidak.
