The actor Joseph Balderrama is Mexican-British. Among his movies is Stan & Ollie (2018). He is well-known on television for his parts in the BritBox series Hotel Portofino (2023) and the Netflix series Heartstopper (2022–present). Diablo IV (2024) and It Takes Two (2021) are two video games he has voiced.
Born in Mexico City to an American mother and Mexican father, Balderrama relocated to England when he was ten years old. He finished his A Levels in 1995 while attending Alleyn’s School in Dulwich. While attending Alleyn’s, he also studied overseas at Phillips Academy Andover. He became a member of the National Youth Theater. After earning a Scottish Master of Arts in History from the University of Glasgow in 1999, he attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) on scholarship for three years to earn a diploma in acting in 2002.
