Jonathan Howard

Biography:

Jonathan Howard, born on January 23, 1987, is an English actor best recognized for his roles as Gavin Moody in the British TV series Dream Team and Ian Boothby in Thor: The Dark World (2013). In spring 2025, he became a series regular on the ITV soap Coronation Street.

Originally from Lancashire, England, Howard has lived in London since 2005. In August 2018, he and actress Élodie Yung welcomed their daughter.

Howard began his acting career in 2001 with his first role as Scott Penney in the educational youth TV show Looking After the Penneys. From 2005 to 2007, he was part of the final cast of Dream Team, portraying Gavin Moody, a young footballer. He later trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) from 2008 to 2011.

In 2012, Howard played Sixth Officer Moody in the TV miniseries Titanic and appeared as Sam Thawley, a charming bar patron, in season four of Downton Abbey.

The following year, he featured in World War Z alongside Brad Pitt as one of Camp Humphrey’s soldiers and portrayed Ian Boothby, Darcy’s intern and romantic interest, in Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World. In 2014, he appeared as Ed in the second season of Mr Selfridge and had several roles in the British-American sitcom Episodes.
