Actor Jeremy Allen White was born in the United States on February 17, 1991. Born and raised in New York City, White started out in small roles before landing his big break as Phillip “Lip” Gallagher in the 2011–2021 comedy-drama series Shameless, for which he was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award.
White gained more recognition for his role as chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the comedy-drama series The Bear (2022–present), for which he won two Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes in a row. The Iron Claw (2023) was a biographical drama film in which White played wrestler Kerry Von Erich. Since 2024, he has represented Calvin Klein all over the world.

Allen credits his early involvement in theater with helping him develop his confidence as a performer. White was a dancer who did tap, jazz, and ballet throughout primary school. At 13, he chose to pursue acting after enrolling in a new middle school dance class. He went to the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen.
