Jayathirtha B. V. is an Indian theater activist, filmmaker, and production designer who was born on May 8, 1977. His films Bell Bottom, Tony, Beautiful Manasugalu, and Olave Mandara have made him well-known. His work as a playwright and director is likewise well-known.
Karnataka’s Bangalore is where Jayathirtha was born and raised. Due to financial difficulties, he dropped out of high school and began working as a salesman at the age of 17. He also took up theater as a hobby. He received training at Abhinayataranga from the well-known theater figure A. S. Murthy and went on to teach there. The B. V. Karanth Best Stage Reviewer Award (1997) was given to Jayathirtha for his critical evaluation of the play Maranayak, among other honors for his theatrical contributions.
