Biography:

Jamie Foxx is an actor, comedian, singer, and producer whose repertoire includes comedy, drama, action, and music. His real name is Eric Marlon Bishop, born on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas, he initially started his career as a comedian and became nationally famous as part of the cast of the sketch-comedy television program In Living Color. Later, he entered the movie industry, playing in such films as Any Given Sunday (1999), Ali (2001), Collateral (2004), Ray (2004), and Django Unchained (2012).

The transition from comedy to drama performances allowed Jamie Foxx to become one of the most versatile performers of his era. Jamie Foxx received the Oscar award for his role of Ray Charles in the movie Ray (2004); for this role, he also was rewarded with BAFTA and Golden Globe awards. For his part in Collateral (2004), Foxx was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category. Among other movies in which Foxx appeared, there are Dreamgirls (2006), The Kingdom (2007), Horrible Bosses (2011), Baby Driver (2017), and Just Mercy (2019).
