Jaideep Sahni is an Indian screenwriter, songwriter, and creative producer known for his work on films such as Chak De! India, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Company, Bunty Aur Babli, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, and Shuddh Desi Romance.
He received several accolades including the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue and Best Story for Company (2002), and Best Screenplay for Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006). Additionally, he won the IIFA Award for Best Story for Chak De! India (2007).
Initially inspired by jam sessions with Palash Sen and his discovery of the screenplay for Gandhi in a New Delhi bookstore, Sahni ventured into screenwriting at age 27. He wrote both the screenplay and lyrics for Jungle (2000), directed by Ram Gopal Verma. Company (2002), also directed by Verma, was highly acclaimed and won multiple Filmfare Awards.
Sahni collaborated with Dibakar Banerjee on Khosla Ka Ghosla and continued his successful association with Yash Raj Films, contributing to hits like Bunty Aur Babli and Chak De! India. He later wrote the screenplay for Aaja Nachle (2007) and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009). Born in 1968 and raised in New Delhi, Sahni initially worked as a computer engineer before transitioning to screenwriting.
