Growing up in Norway, Jacob was born in Poland. In 2011, he received his degree from The National Film School of Denmark’s producing program.
Jacob Jarek founded the production firm Profile Pictures in Copenhagen in 2011. With a focus on genre films and television shows with a creative edge, Profile Pictures swiftly established itself as a prosperous and aspirational business.
Several of Ali Abassi’s films, such as “Holy Spider” (2022) and “The Apprentice” (2024), which were both chosen for the Cannes main competition, are among them. Additionally, Jacob produced Christian Tafdrup’s “Speak no evil” (2022), which debuted at Sundance before being recreated by Blumhouse and released by Universal in 2024.
Jacob has created and executive produced television programs for HBO, DR, and Netflix. In 2017, Jacob Jarek won the Ib Award from the Danish Directors. The European Film Academy counts him among its members.
