Biography:
Jack Nicholson was an outstanding American actor, film producer and one of the most recognizable personalities in Hollywood film industry. He was born on April 22, 1937, in Neptune City, New Jersey, and started working as a film actor in the late 1950s. He starred in films such as “The Cry Baby Killer” (1958), “Easy Rider” (1969). Nicholson’s successful performances in films like “Five Easy Pieces” (1970), “The Last Detail” (1973), and “Chinatown” (1974) gave him fame as a great actor of rebels and psychologically complicated characters.
His cooperation with a director James L. Brooks, and outstanding roles in movies such as “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (1975), “The Shining” (1980), “Batman” (1989) and “A Few Good Men” (1992) helped him become a Hollywood icon. Jack Nicholson got 12 nominations in Academy Awards and thus became the most nominated male actor in the Oscar history. He won three times: the Best Actor award for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “As Good as It Gets” (1997) and the Best Supporting Actor for “Terms of Endearment” (1983). Among other notable movies are “The Departed” (2006), “The Witches of Eastwick” (1987), “The Passenger” (1975), “The Bucket List” (2007).
Nicholson received many awards in Golden Globe Awards and got nominations for Academy Award for A Few Good Men. Nicholson is famous for his specific laugh, unique acting skills and ability to switch between comedy, drama and darker roles. He has stopped acting and the last movie he starred in is “How Do You Know” (2010).
