Biography:
Hrishikesh Joshi, a Marathi actor from Kolhapur, has worked extensively across Hindi and Marathi films, television serials, and theatre, earning appreciation from several eminent professionals. His filmography includes acclaimed titles such as Harishchandrachi Factory, Yellow (2014), Aajcha Divas Majha, Vishnupant Damle: The Unsung Hero of Talkies, and Deool.
He completed his postgraduate studies at the National School of Drama in 1997 and has performed in over 50 plays in Hindi, Marathi, and Sanskrit. Joshi represented India at the Sri Lankan Theatre Festival, where he performed Abhigyan Shakuntalam in Sanskrit in Colombo and Kandy.
He has received the Maharashtra State Government’s Best Actor Award for commercial theatre multiple times: in 1999–2000 for Shobhayatra, in 2006–2007 for Love Story, and in 2007–2008 for Ye Bhau Doka Nako Khau. His stage work includes more than 400 shows of Mukkampost Bombilwadi and over 150 shows each of Sangeet Lagnakallol and the Marathi play Love Story.
In addition to acting, he is also a columnist for the well-known Marathi newspaper Loksatta.
