Indian actor Harihar Gundurao Dattatreya, better known by his stage name Dattanna, was born on April 20, 1942, and has starred in over 204 films and plays. In addition to his acting career, he spent more than 20 years as an aeronautical engineer in the Indian Air Force and had academic roles with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). His work in Kannada cinema, where he primarily plays supporting parts, is what made him most famous. He has won two Karnataka State Film Awards, one National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor, and two National Film Award-Special Jury Awards during his nearly three-decade film career. His roles in Munnudi (2000), Bettada Jeeva (2011), and Bharath Stores (2012) have earned him recognition. He received the Rajyotsava Prashasti from the Karnataka government in 2022.
