Gurleen Chopra

Gurleen Chopra, also recognized as Gurlen Kaur Chopraa, is a versatile Indian actress and model who has made her mark across multiple film industries including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, and Punjabi cinema. Her journey into the entertainment world wasn’t initially supported by her parents, who were hesitant about her career choice, but eventually relented upon learning that her debut film was to be directed by Lawrence D’Souza. Prior to venturing into films, she was crowned “Miss Chandigarh” and subsequently explored modeling, eventually solidifying her decision to pursue a career in acting.

Chopra embarked on her modeling journey with the iconic song ‘tedi tedi takdi tu’ by Surjit Bindrakhiya in 1999. Her entry into Hindi cinema began with the film Indian Babu, followed by her portrayal of an orphan girl named Riya in Kuch To Gadbad Hai. The actress expanded her horizons by stepping into Telugu cinema with Ayudham and continued to grace Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil films with her presence. Notably, in the movie Manmatha, where she played a double role, her performance received acclaim from critics, with Sify praising her portrayal of Lakshmi in the blind get-up.

Transitioning across languages, she made her Tamil debut with Thullal, filmed in 2004 but released in 2007. Afterward, she turned her focus to Punjabi cinema, where her film Hashar opposite Babbu Mann garnered significant success. Following a hiatus, she ventured back into Telugu cinema with the movie Konaseemalo Chittemma Kittayya in 2009, and later appeared in the 3D Telugu romantic comedy Vasthavam.

In 2015, Chopra embarked on her Marathi film debut with Shinma, commencing shooting for the project in May of that year. Alongside her acting pursuits, she’s also established herself as a certified nutritionist, boasting a clientele of over 25,000 individuals worldwide.
