Biography:

Gangadhar Panday, known affectionately as Ganga, is a versatile figure in the Indian film industry, where he has worn the hats of both an actor and a director since 1998. Hailing from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, he was born into a North Indian family and received his early education in a rural setting. Ganga’s journey into the world of cinema began after he completed a “Film Appreciation Course” at the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune in 2009.

Education has been a significant part of Ganga’s life, as he holds a master’s degree in English from Osmania University in Hyderabad, as well as several diplomas, including Acting & TV Production from S.N. School of Performing Arts. Notably, he pursued a career as a government servant from 1958 to 2012 before transitioning to the film industry and dedicating himself to environmental causes. He also established a non-profit organization called “Babul Films Society” to raise awareness about environmental issues. Ganga’s diverse experiences span from government projects to participation in international events, showcasing his commitment to multiple fields, from cinema to environmental advocacy.

Ganga’s career in the film industry has seen him in supporting roles in various films, including notable titles like “Godavari,” “Bobby Jasoos,” “Stalin,” “Okka Magaadu,” and “Hitler.” Beyond his work in cinema, he’s actively involved in global initiatives, serving as a membership coordinator in the Neo Brahmi Generation Panel (NBGO) and participating in events like ICANN57 and NCPH in Los Angeles.
