American television writer and producer Gabrielle Gail Stanton was born in South Orange, New Jersey. She is well-known for her work on the Stephen King adaptation series Haven on Syfy, The CW’s The Flash, and the ABC shows Grey’s Anatomy and Ugly Betty. After graduating from the women’s Barnard College and Columbia University in Manhattan, New York, and attending the all-girls Kent Place School in Summit, New Jersey, Stanton served as the national publicity coordinator in the Public Broadcasting Service’s New York office until 1991. She first entered the film business in 1992 as writer-producer George Zaloom’s assistant on the movie Encino Man. Later, she played a small part as “Gabrielle” in the 1998 movie Free Enterprise, which also starred her then-husband and writing partner Harry Werksman as “Harry”. Additionally, she contributed to the film Edward Scissorhands.
