Biography:

G. Neelakanta Reddy, an acclaimed Indian film director and screenwriter, predominantly operates in the Telugu cinema domain.

His notable achievements include receiving the National Award for screenwriting in the feature film “Show.” Having secured two National Film Awards and three Nandi Awards, Neelakanta hails from Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, and pursued his education at Loyola Public School and Loyola College in Vijayawada.

Driven by a profound love for film direction since his school days, Neelakanta’s passion materialized with “Show,” followed by “Missamma,” earning him national recognition.

Despite commercial setbacks with films like “Sada Mee Sevalo” and “Nandanavanam 120km,” the latter garnered significant critical acclaim.

Further ventures included “Mr.Medhavi” and writing dialogues for the Telugu remake of “A Wednesday!” titled “Eeenadu.”

In 2011, his directorial work “Virodhi” earned him the Best Dialogue Writer award. The year 2013 saw the release of “Chammak Challo,” which received mixed reviews.

In 2018, Neelakanta directed the Malayalam film “Zam Zam,” an official remake of the Hindi film “Queen,” featuring Manjima Mohan.
