Fatafat Jayalaxmi, an Indian actress primarily working in Tamil and Telugu films, was born on November 1, 1958, and went by the stage name Fatafat Jayalakshmi (also known as Phataphat Jayalaxmi). Her Malayalam filmography credits include Supriya. In ten years of acting, she appeared in roughly sixty-six films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
In the Telugu film Iddaru Ammayilu, starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the title role, she made her screen debut in 1972. She starred as Supriya in A. Vincent’s Malayalam film Theerthayathra that same year. In 1973, she acted in Ithu Manushyano? She debuted as Jayalakshmi in K Balachander’s 1974 Tamil film Aval Oru Thodar Kathai.
She became a household name with her popular dialogue ‘Fatafat’ (meaning quickly) which became her prefix.[1] Her notable films include Aval Oru Thodar Kathai, Anthuleni Katha, Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai and Mullum Malarum. She had co-starred with top actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Krishna, NTR and Chiranjeevi.
In 2018, during an interview with Rajinikanth, when he was asked to pick his favorite actress he choose Fatafat Jayalakshmi and told the audience that she was a good actress though they paired in very few movies together
