Faisal Khan

Biography:

Mohammad Faisal Hussain Khan is an Indian actor who plays in Hindi movies. He was born on August 3, 1966. His portrayal of Shankar Shane in Mela made him famous.

Producer Tahir Hussain is the father of Khan. His brother is Aamir Khan, who is an actor, director and producer, and he has two sisters, Nikhat Khan, who is a producer and actor, and Farhat Khan.

Nasir Hussain, his paternal uncle, was a filmmaker and producer. His cousin Tariq Khan worked as an actor in the 1970s and 1980s, and his nephew Imran Khan is a former actor. He is Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s great-grand nephew.

Khan played Shashi Kapoor’s youngster in his uncle Nasir Hussain’s 1969 film Pyar Ka Mausam, making his cinematic debut at the age of three. In 1988, he made his cinematic debut as an adult, appearing in a small part as a villain in the movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, directed by his brother Aamir. His brother Aamir played the lead in his father’s 1990 film Tum Mere Ho, in which he served as assistant director.

In 1994, Khan landed his first major part in the Vikram Bhatt-directed and father-produced movie Madhosh. He took a five-year break after the movie’s box office flop. He returned to the spotlight in 2000, costarring with his brother in the box office failure Mela. Nonetheless, Faisal’s performance in the movie was praised by director Dharmesh Darshan.

Khan was reported missing for two days in 2007. A few days prior, he had reported to the police that his brother Aamir had kept him imprisoned in his house because Aamir believed his brother Faisal was mentally sick.

After some time, he was located in Pune and returned to Mumbai, where he underwent medical testing. The custody dispute between his father and brother Aamir over Faisal received extensive media attention. Tahir, Faisal’s father, was granted custody of his son.
