Esha Deol Takhtani, born on November 2, 1981, is an Indian actress predominantly known for her roles in Hindi films. Her debut in the romantic thriller “Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe” (2002) earned her the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.[2]
As the daughter of Bollywood legends Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Esha was born in Bombay (now Mumbai). She shares close ties with a renowned Bollywood family, having a younger sister, Ahana, and being the half-sister of actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Her passion for sports manifested during her school days at Jamnabai Narsee School, where she excelled in football, serving as the captain of her school team and representing her college in handball at the state level. Esha’s skills even earned her a spot as a national-level footballer, leading her to represent Maharashtra in the Senior National Championship in Punjab in 2001.[12][13]
After a series of films that received mixed receptions, Esha took a break but returned to acting in recent years. Her comeback includes roles in the streaming series “Rudra: The Edge of Darkness” (2022) and “Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega” (2023).
