Most famously, Erin Smith (born August 16, 1972) is the guitarist for the riot grrrl band Bratmobile, which also features vocalist Allison Wolfe and drummer Molly Neuman.In 1987, Smith and her brother Don founded the zine Teenage Gang Debs. She began working as an intern at Sassy magazine in 1991, where she introduced girls to DIY culture and wrote pieces on independent music.
Smith began playing guitar with Bratmobile in 1991, along with Allison Wolfe on vocals and Molly Neuman on percussion. The band continued to perform until 1994, when they took a break. Smith and Wolfe formed a new band called Cold Cold Hearts during this break. In 1999, Bratmobile got back together, but after two more albums, they broke up once more in 2003. Later on, Smith was employed at Lookout! Records.
